The Blackstone Headwaters Coalition has 27  out of the 75 testing sites covering the entire watershed.

How We Monitor The River

Our volunteers take samples from the river on the second Saturday of every month at roughly the same time. They complete onsite testing for dissolved oxygen as well as water and air temperature. They note the aesthetics of the river by completing a visual evaluation.

​Volunteers are trained on how to property take samples and conduct tests. They are each equipped with their own testing kit.
