In 2003 the Blackstone River Coalition and its members launched the campaign for a Fishable/Swimmable Blackstone river. This campaign created a bi-state watershed action plan to improve water quality and achieve the goal of a Fishable/Swimmable Blackstone River. To learn more about the campaign click here!
Blackstone River Coalition Members
The Blackstone Headwaters Coalition is a member of the Blackstone River Coalition, made up of various organizations concerned with the regeneration of the Blackstone River and the health of the Blackstone River Watershed. Principal members include Blackstone Headwaters Coalition, Blackstone River Watershed Association and, the Blackstone River Watershed Council/Friends of the Blackstone. Other members include Mass Audubon, Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Save the Bay and College of the Holy Cross.
